Equality and Diversity

We are a diverse universe, each one of with a unique set of fingerprints.  We’ve grown, prospered and forged an identity from our experiences, our upbringings and our cultures and for most of us, this has been a natural progression through life’s trials and tribulations.  However, there are individuals within our universe for whom life’s trial and tribulations have felt more of an uphill battle, for whatever reason.  There are certain groups of people who experience disadvantage and unequal treatment due to prejudice and stereotyping related to their characteristics.  The Equality Act 2010 replaced almost all the previous UK equality law, a very readable source of information which explains the Equality Act 2010 in straightforward language comprises the Codes of Practice issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission ; please follow the link to read more

  • Race

  • Religion or belief

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

Equality and diversity are essential components of health and social care. Good equality and diversity practices make sure that the services provided are fair and accessible to everyone.

They ensure that people are treated as equals, that people get the dignity and respect you deserve and that differences are unique to each and everyone of us.

Equality means ensuring everyone in Millennium Homecare has equal opportunities, regardless of their abilities, their backgrounds or their lifestyle.

Diversity means valuing the differences between us all and treating the varied values, beliefs, cultures and lifestyles with respect.

Millennium Homecare are proud to share our diverse approach with everyone, we love to learn about who you are, what’s important to you, your beliefs, your wishes, your hopes and everything else that enables us to get to know you, as YOU, your uniqueness.

When joining Millennium Homecare, whether that be as choosing us to be your provider or as a team member of staff, you will learn from day 1 how important you are to our family of community care provision.
